A Big Heart Full of Thanks

You’ve probably already seen it by now, our Mulmur “Follow Your Heart” Map highlighting many of the great places and things in our tiny township, but there is ONE THING MISSING…

It’s a BIG Thank-You to the members of our community who pulled it all together.

A BIG shout-out to Patti Cleary, Martin Ingham, Matthew McBride, Ian Payne and Shane Durnford who all spent a great deal of time to make things happen.  People like you truly make Mulmur better place to live, work and play, and for all your efforts, we want to say thank-you!

If you want to get involved in the community and help out, just give us a shout or follow us to find out what is happening next!

Let’s Make Some Mulmur Muscle!

Get your hiking shoes ready, our kick-off event is May 6th! TOMORROW

Celebrate Canada’s 150th by exploring one of Canada’s longest hiking trails and see the natural, scenic and historic sights of Mulmur.

Our Bruce Trail Mulmur Passport Walk Series is five designated loop hikes to be completed, in any order, over the course of this summer. Each of the five trails will have a trail code halfway through that you need to mark on your passport. Return the completed passport to Township Office by October 9 to receive a Hiking in Mulmur commemorative patch and be entered into a draw for a $200 gift certificate to Mountain Equipment Co-op, a Bruce Trail Conservancy/Dufferin Hi-Land Club one year family membership or other fantastic prizes.

Join us this Saturday, May 6th from 10am to 2pm, RAIN OR SHINE, at the Primrose Loop on Prince of Wales Road (just north of Primrose Elementary School) .  The parking lot at the trail head is quite small so it may be best to park at Primrose Elementary School and take the short “hike” to the Loop. The Canada 150 Committee will be there to greet you and hand out passports and maps.

If you can’t make our kick-off event you can email info@mulmur.ca to get a copy of your map and passport or stop by the Township Office.

It’s Time To Take To The Hills…With Hiking News!
Some of the best trails are right here in Mulmur!

Looking for 200 hikers…we need you for a good cause!

The Headwaters region is rich in spectacular natural resources such as the Bruce Trail. Take a Hike for Headwaters, scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2017, will provide participants with the opportunity to experience one of three spectacular hiking routes along the beautiful and rolling trails of the Dufferin Hi-Land section of the Bruce Trail – The Challenge (3 hours), The Intermediate (2 hours) and The Family (1 hour) – and incorporates sections of stunning private properties opened up for this inaugural fundraising event.

The event will raise funds to purchase vital medical equipment for Headwaters Health Care Centre, the hospital serving the residents of the Headwaters region.

“It surprises people to learn the government does not provide funding to hospitals for medical equipment,” explains Nicole Hand, Headwaters Health Care Foundation. “Every piece of hospital equipment is purchased thanks to community donations, some of which are raised through events such as this.”

The registration fee is $50 for adults, $25 for youth, and free for children under 5.

Hikers will be treated to on-course snacks and a post-hike lunch at the start/finish location, Lyric Pond (Mulmur). The first 200 participants will receive hiking socks and a commemorative hike badge.

To register, visit hhcfoundation.com/events.
